A little practice in the studio using NI Maschine Mikro. No loops used, all samples are one shots, a couple have got a bit of a pattern going.

After three days reading and watching just about everything I found on the internet on MIDI pad controllers, I finally made up my mind and got myself my first one, the Maschine Mikro.

Had a looong think between the Korg Padkontrol and the Maschine so I headed to the nearest store today and lined up both next to each other. I felt more confident about the Maschine, but it was only after checking the sample library and the software that I realised how good a decision I made. I mean, stuff by Amon Tobin, Matthew Herbert, Apparat, 7GB of quality samples all neatly organised.

Now would be a time to nest in the studio for a week or so and bang out a few tunes but life’s harsh, I got a load of assignments to mark. Anyway, here’s my first crack after firing up one of the presets, can’t wait to dive in deeper.

After running exclusively on Addictech for a couple weeks and currently at number 6 in the top selling releases of the year, it’s finally landed on Beatport too. Guess what, Loco Boogie is already at 77 on the Glitch Hop chart. Yippiiee!

Forest Mallet / Bugbuzz + remixes out on Empathy Recordings

The guys at Empathy really went to town with this one and knocked up a simply amazing package with remixes by Mr. Bill, Goosebumpz, and Spoonhead. Available in all good online shops.

Zagar – Never The Same (AMB remix)

A remix I made for this wicked Hungarian act Zagar, more on the spaced out dubstep side, also dropped this Friday.

As an outro, I had an amazing gig on Friday, kicked off with this tune above, blew some heads off! Managed to squeeze in a proper glitch-hop set on a techno night right in between a tech house and a techno set in a way that the crowd went crazy. And not in a bad way. Been a busy week, thanks guys for all your support!

Was gutted I had to miss The Glitch Mob’s Budapest gig last weekend, I was in Brussels when they played.

Checked in on Instagram in the city and got a comment from my mate Ooah Glitch Mob saying they were playing in Brussels that night.

My advise for the week is this: grab a nice coffee in the morning and allow yourself a one minute window for foolery. Always works a treat.

It is very very important to keep fit and do some exercise every now and again.

Take this one for example, it should take 45 minutes, I’m done in 10. Stick that up your dojo.

Had copious amounts of fun at the Chi Recordings Night @ Sziget Festival yesterday, played alongside Fine Cut Bodies, Modul aka Mango (both pictured). Playing a fresh, soon-to-be-released Biscuit Reality tune here, always goes down a storm!

Still playing this tune every now and again, it was the last tune in my set the other week before General Midi came on. Went down a flipping storm.

Spent an hour or so the other day giving a go to TouchOSC + OSCulator + Ableton Live + iPad. Have had these for a while now, never got round to give them a go, though. Quite cool though, def bringing that on stage when going live.
