Latest Freebies 2.

There’s so much great music out there these days that I’ll try and regularly give you my top selection of the ones you can download for a price of your choice. Plus pick one favourite of my recently purchased ones. If there’s a compilation or EP/LP, I’ll intentionally give you only one track off it.

My first pick is a top quality tune by Atomic Reactor, great flow, awesome vibe, check it out:

Here’s one by Quanta on Enig’matik Records, carefully crafted sound design in a nice dubby flavour:

Vibeaquad‘s album’s second installment “Orphan Alien pt2″ is a seven-track beast that you can purchase on all good online stores as well as his own bandcamp site (name your price there btw), I recommend checking all of the tracks out, but here’s one of my favourite, Porky Pegasus:

The Blunt Intrument guys have been killing it a while, go snatch up their wicked Tool bootleg if you haven’t yet:

Been enjoying this tune “Lift Your Spirit” by Unlimited Gravity, you may have too as it’s got over 9k plays on Soundcloud where it’s been sitting for three months, now you can get it for just 2 bucks:

Cerebellum Kick Off

I’m really keen on this remix package of Mr. Bill’s Cerebellum Serenade to drop, I put up a preview of my version on Soundcloud but also wanted to give you guys the beginning, I quite like the atmosphere and the horns in it, check it out:

Then it goes on to:

And a snapshot of the complete project:

So there you have it, landing in less than two weeks on 9th May on Adapted Records.

On the remix works are characters like Goosebumpz, Meat Axe, Crazy Daylight, Freddy Todd, Bran Richards, Blatwax, Doramey Rogers, and more.

Quite crazy actually. Yea, people see me, and they see the suit, and they go: “you’re not fooling anyone”, they know I’m rock and roll through and through. But you know that old thing, live fast, die young? Not my way. Live fast, sure, live too bloody fast sometimes, but die young? No. Die old.

Backbone Giggle single released

Super excited about this one guys,

My next track on Simplify Recordings ‘Backbone Giggle’ with remixes by VibeSquaD and K Theory is now available on Beatport,

Go check it out and snatch it up if ya fancy, cheers everyone for the support!

Live Therapy

I always find a bit of live-act to be a great cure for hangover. Recorded this one using Ableton Suite, Akai APC40, and a Maschine Mikro. If you like the music, you can download it from here:

Monday WarmUp

A little practice in the studio using NI Maschine Mikro. No loops used, all samples are one shots, a couple have got a bit of a pattern going.

Quick Testing Maschine Mikro

After three days reading and watching just about everything I found on the internet on MIDI pad controllers, I finally made up my mind and got myself my first one, the Maschine Mikro.

Had a looong think between the Korg Padkontrol and the Maschine so I headed to the nearest store today and lined up both next to each other. I felt more confident about the Maschine, but it was only after checking the sample library and the software that I realised how good a decision I made. I mean, stuff by Amon Tobin, Matthew Herbert, Apparat, 7GB of quality samples all neatly organised.

Now would be a time to nest in the studio for a week or so and bang out a few tunes but life’s harsh, I got a load of assignments to mark. Anyway, here’s my first crack after firing up one of the presets, can’t wait to dive in deeper.

Latest Freebies 1.

Going through my folder today where I collect stuff that need listening to and sorting, I had an idea.

There’s so much great music out there these days that I’ll try and regularly give you my top selection of the ones you can download for a price of your choice. Plus pick one favourite of my recently purchased ones. If there’s a compilation or EP/LP, I’ll intentionally give you only one track off it.

Here’s the first one, recently bumped into this guy heRobust, here’s one of his freebies on Saturate Records, fell in love with it instantly:

When mastering Cheese & Biscuits for Adapted Records (free compilation), I was blown away by the amount great tracks on there. One bassline that probably got more stuck in my head than others though was this one by Tar-Nay:

I love good titles, this one’s hilarious, plus the track’s elegantly lush. By Chris B:

I highly recommend snatching this one up by Bobby Tank:

This one’s more on the banger side by Akira Kiteshi:

Finally here’s the plus one, my recent favourite, an amazingly sweet tune by Thriftworks. You can listen to the full length track on Soundcloud and get it here on Beatport:

Goosebumpz remix preview

Hello folks,

Just wanted to share this preview with you all, a sneak peek of the remix I’ve done to ‘Texas Teeth’ by Goosebumpz, coming soon on the ever growing Adapted Records. To make sure it’s as massive a treat as it gets, the guys at Adapted have thrown in Mr. Bill, Circuit Bent, Meat Axe, and quite a few more really talented cats so it’s definitely one to catch in April! I’m SOOO keen for it to drop, can’t wait to show you all the full version!! Till then, check out the taster and show some love if you fancy.

Glitch On

Heya lads,

There so much good music these days, aren’t there? I luckily keep getting a load of great promos and find a lot on Beatport/ Addictech (is there a slower website these days than Addictech btw?), also there’s a decent amount of free releases turning up from time to time, not to mention the free downloads on Soundcloud.

So it is indeed good times, there’s a lot knocking about, and this little DJ set is just a very very small segment of that.

I find all of the tracks on there great pieces of work though, great bangers that don’t forget they’re supposed to be a piece of music too.

Check it out by clicking the image on the left, have fun!
